Home of the Holy Grail of the Blues
From Hirsberg's Drug Store in Friar's Point Mississippi
The Chicago blues master Muddy Waters said that the only time he actually saw the legendary Robert Johnson play was on the front benches of Hirsberg's Drugstore in Friars Point, Mississippi. A crowd of people had gathered around Johnson, who was playing ferociously. As Waters describes it, he became intimidated by the older man's incredible musicianship and quickly left the scene.
